Catching a train to Crewe couldn’t be more appropriate, as the town is synonymous with railways.

Back in the 19th century, Crewe was one of the finest railway workshops in the land. Grand locomotives were built here, cementing a proud chapter of the town that’s now on show for all to see at the Crewe Heritage Centre railway museum.

Trains aside, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Crewe. Theatre-goers are treated to a roster of quality live dramas, musicals and comedy at Crewe Lyceum throughout the year. A walk through the town itself meanwhile leads to a fine range of restaurants and bars, pubs and shops. Perhaps the best place for a stroll however is through the Grade II* listed Queens Park. The Victorian park features a lake, bandstand, children’s play area and boating facilities.

Crewe Alexandra FC, aptly nicknamed ‘the Railwaymen’, welcomes travelling away fans each week during the football season. Getting to the Gresty Road stadium couldn’t be easier by train, with Crewe railway station located a five minute walk away.

Save on travel by booking cheap train tickets to Crewe for just £10 one-way.
